This is an association formed exclusively by volunteers and it is this organization that has seen to the collection and restoration of all the material that will be mainstay base of the Mining Museum.

Among its main activities, the association has been responsible for raising awareness about the preservation of mining heritage in the general public and public institutions, holding mining exhibitions, tributes to former miners, books, publications and investigative works on the and characteristics of Bizkaia's mining Heritage.
